Description

The Press Brake Operator uses press brakes and miscellaneous equipment to create, shape, and customize fit materials into a variety of forms dictated by Fabrication plans. Reads and interprets detailed and complex instructions to produce the desired forms. Looks at blueprints or plans for the finished product. Authority Statement

The Job Title listed empowers the Incumbent with the authority to execute all duties and responsibility listed below. In the event of a conflict of authority, the Incumbent shall elevate to direct supervisor for resolution. Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform brake press operation requires strong mechanical aptitude.

• Understand and interpret drawings and specifications.

• Contribute to the identification of root causes and implementation of corrective actions for quality issues that arise.

• Perform measurements and record results as well as visual inspections and product configuration verification.

• Possess the desire to do the right thing for our customers.

• Detail-oriented

• Able to function within a fast-paced environment. Back up for sales administration

• Miscellaneous filing and projects

• Reviews customers term and conditions, marking up potential problem areas

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED.

• 1-3 years’ experience in manufacturing, metal fabrication or industrial setting.

• Previous experience with sheet metal and/or press brake operations is preferred.

• Physical Demands:

o Ability to frequently lift up to 50 pounds individually and occasionally lift greater than 75 pounds with assistance.

o Ability to stand for extended periods of time, bend,

kneel, reach, lift repetitively in a hectic, noisy environment in hot,

cold conditions, with airborne dust/fumes present while paying

special attention to critical processes.

o Ability to work in hot, cold, dusty, elevated, noisy area where foot and motorized equipment movement is present.

o Ability to lift, position, move, bend in order to accomplish production goals that require loading, adjusting, turning, and removing small and large parts.

o Ability to maneuver work pieces by hand in a repetitive manner conductive to efficiency, job specifications, safety, and quality goals.

o Ability to stand, bend, stretch, reach and lift repetitively to accomplish production and other company-wide production goals.

o Ability to manually move machine controls using hand and foot guides to adjust machine for accuracy.

• Ability to maintain basic knowledge Windows Operating System.

Working Conditions

Mostly standing work. Continuously lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds. Frequently lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs. Occasionally lifting and carrying up to 100 lbs. (Lifting more than 50 lbs overhead must be performed by using mechanical aids; if mechanical aids are not available, the lift will be performed by two employees in a team lift.) Detailed work with hands; fine work and simple grasping. Position may involve bending, squatting, climbing, reaching, and kneeling with occasional crawling and twisting. Periodic travel may be involved. As needed, will work at a desk and a computer screen for extended periods of time. Must be able to manually enter data to the computer system and understand the screen and images that appear.
