Summary: Assists with projects as assigned by providing suggestions, improvements and/or content in the area of concentration.

 

Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Understands the overall concept and mission of MetroParks of Butler County, including brand, customer service goals, and all other aspects of the organization.
  • Rotates through divisions of responsibility as assigned and provides ideas to grow and improve the business.
  • Accepts designated, business-focus projects to research, proposes ideas and solutions, and presents projects during the internship.
  • Engages with customers or clients to provide services and/or sales.
  • Provides suggestions to management for improving customer service and internal processes.
  • Learns and becomes proficient on internal software systems.
  • Assists in creating reports.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality on sensitive issues and non-public records.
  • Ability to operate personal computers, scanners and common office equipment.
  • Ability to follow MetroParks’ policies in the Employee Handbook and other policies as applicable.
  • Ability to interact with all members of the public in a professional, helpful, and fair manner, and always serve as a goodwill ambassador for MetroParks of Butler County.

 

Required Education Experience:

  • A minimum of one (1) year of education from an accredited college.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated multi-tasking and organizational skills are required, along with the ability to work unsupervised, coordinate, prioritize, self-initiate and manage administrative detail using established standards.
  • Working knowledge of and experience with computer software operations including, but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite applications and use of common office equipment.
  • A valid driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle record, allowing insurability by MetroParks current vehicle insurance carrier, under existing coverage provisions, at the time of employment and thereafter are also required. Candidates for employment may not have more than 4 total points (or equivalent penalty) issued by a recognized licensing authority for driving-related violations on his/her driving record at the time of employment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and basic mathematical competency with a strong knowledge of proper grammar, punctuation and spelling are required.

 

Work Environment & Schedule:

This is an hourly position between 15-30 hours per week, with some office time as well as some remote work.

 

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the Intern is regularly required to stay in a stationary position, to traverse, and to converse effectively. This employee may occasionally move up to 25 pounds. Reasonable accommodation will be made for known physical limitations of qualified employees and applicants with disabilities.
