Patient Care Assistant

Shriners Children's Ohio has an opportunity for a part-time Patient Care Assistant in our Inpatient Unit.  Join a team of professionals committed to improving children's lives.  Our top healthcare professionals excel in their practices and provide compassionate, family-centered care to children who need it most.  Hours:  The part-time, day shift position is 24 hours/week, 7:00 am – 3:30 pm and every 3rd weekend. 

The Patient Care Assistant assists in the delivery of patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.  The PCA provides direct patient care and performs routine tasks as assigned.  Must consistently demonstrate caring and appropriate behavior when interacting with patients and families.  Assists with the planning and provision of structured, age appropriate activities for patients under the guidance or direction of a Child Life Therapist.  Monitors children’s activities and maintains a safe physical and psychosocial environment for children.

High School Diploma / GED

Certification/Licensure

Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) - STNA Ohio License

Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

Experience

One year of pediatric experience preferred
