Career Opportunity: Electronics Engineering Technician with GIRD Systems, Inc. in Cincinnati, OH

GIRD Systems, Inc., specializes in advanced signal processing and communication systems for military and commercial customers. GIRD does more than just design, build and deploy radios for our customers. We design the entire communication system, starting with the creation of a spectrum-efficient waveform, and then progressing through the software or firmware implementation of the communication system in a compact form factor.

We are seeking an Electronics Engineering Technician to build and test electronic assemblies that will be used for airborne and ground-based radios. This position requires knowledge of both manual and automated test equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, power supplies). Additional responsibilities include:

  • Build, test, troubleshoot and repair engineering prototypes and production quality electronic assemblies
  • Design and fabricate test fixtures, cabling
  • Design and fabricate mechanical assemblies using hand tools and simple machine power tools
  • Work under engineering supervision in laboratory environment using standard and RF test equipment

Qualifications for the role include:

  • Associate Degree from an accredited Electrical Engineering Technology school or Military School equivalent
  • Understanding of basic circuit behavior
  • Soldering experience with surface mount technology components (IPC certification preferred)
  • Knowledge with basic MS Office tools (Word/Excel)
  • Familiarity with standard engineering drawings and documentation practice
  • Experience with standard test equipment (oscilloscopes, DVM, power supplies)
  • Experience with RF test equipment (network/Spectrum analyzers, signal generators) preferred
  • Automated test equipment (ATE) programming experience preferred
  • Experience with test plans and test procedures
