Expected Starting Salary Range: $24.34 - $29.87 with potential for sign-on bonus and $4/hr shift differential

SUBFUNCTION DEFINITION:

Install, maintain, and repair internal factory equipment. Supervise employees who perform maintenance and tool making.

SCOPE: To troubleshoot and repair systems and components and inspect and complete service requests in an efficient manner for the Building Maintenance department.

REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES

Prioritization

Prioritize work to properly execute emergency breakdown response. Report items affecting or potentially affecting proper operation of plant and equipment. Maintain acceptable backlog of planned maintenance activity. Run service calls. Repair plumbing, electric, mechanical, and various types of equipment in an efficient manner. Maintain inventory of hospital standard finishes for repairs.

Repairs and Maintenance

Maintain proper scheduling of assigned duties and procurement of material to perform cost effective maintenance and repair. Acquire and interpret maintenance data to establish operational status of plant equipment and systems. Maintain proper documentation of all assigned maintenance policies, procedures, and schematics. Ensure that infection control and life safety measures are followed while performing maintenance projects. Set up containment per infection control guidelines.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2 years of work experience in a related job discipline.

Preferred:

• Proficient in balancing air and water treatment systems in line with HVAC protocols.
• EPA 608 certification
• Understanding of advanced methods of air conditioning, refrigeration and heating.
• Experience in a Hospital work environment.
• Ability to operate a variety of hand and power tools.
• Standard practices of the HVAC and refrigeration trade
• Good problem-solving skills & critical thinking
• Physically able and able to be upright for long periods
• Excellent communication skills

Unique Skills:

• Review data from routine maintenance and identifying potential malfunctions.
• Welding and soldering techniques
• Proficient in electrical diagnostic skills.
• Experience with electrical systems.
