Industrial Maintenance Technician

Mission

To realize maintenance operations during preventive maintenance sessions, solve maintenance issues in case of machine breakdown, and observe machine to detect potential failures.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the application of safety standards and for adhering to IATF16949, ISO 14001 and OHSAS18001 standards. On the Job Training (OJT) of peers
• Stop Scrap procedures (Related to all manufacturing) where applicable.
• Preparing written specifications for major repairs or for the production of parts ordered from machine shops; dismantles/reassembles machines performing routine to extensive repairs; makes all necessary adjustments for safe functional operation.
• Works cooperatively with production teams and coordinators to make repairs and/or improvements to equipment and processes.
• Trouble-shoots problems with equipment or processes and identifies solutions for them.
• Helps in training production members for minor preventative maintenance of equipment.
• Performs set-up and installation of equipment, adjustments, tooling changes, mechanical/electrical improvements, etc
• Apply safety rules with immediate reaction in case of detected dangerous situation
• Ensure that all safety devices of machines are operational before their restart after maintenance intervention
• Propose preventive maintenance improvements in order to reduce reliability issues.
• Realize 2nd level of maintenance operations,
• Solve maintenance issues in case of machine breakdown,
• Escalate deviations after machine observation in curative or preventive maintenance
• Escalate deviations detected in spare part warehouse
• Watch over and pilot sub-contractors during preventive maintenance
• Repair components or sub-assemblies in order to replace them
• Participate to machine receipt at supplier with process engineering
• Participate to maintenance 5S and respect 5S in preventive maintenance
• Respect recycling of waste.

• Understand who the internal customers and suppliers are, as well as who the end customer is.
• Develop versatility and competence in all related job tasks and operations

• Submit Improvement Proposals each calendar month in regards to Safety, Well Being, Efficiency, cost, 5S
• Participate in the implementation of Improvement proposals each month.
• Participate to safety and environment risks reduction
• The following two items are requirements to be applied after training if employment application is successful :
• Participate in VPS (Valeo Production Systems) workshops (flow analysis – MUDA hunting, 5S, Hoshin, TPM)
• Respect Valeo 5 axes in daily activities to reach and maintain V5000 targets.

 

 

Education/Training

Formal Apprenticeship Program and/or equivalent training and experience performing job functions

Professional Experience

• 2-4 years Automotive experience
• Plastics molding machine repair and maintenance – Preferred
• PLC and robot experience – Preferred
