Desktop Engineer

Job Description: Break Fix Technician

• Acts as first point of contact for the user support
• Provides day-to-day technical support to all users
• Builds and configures desktop computers and laptops
• Assists with the maintenance of print servers
• Implements the delivery of PC hardware peripherals and computers
• Works with hardware vendors to quickly repair or replace broken hardware products
• Reviews, monitors and upgrades existing PCs or installs new PCs
• Installs and maintains software or hardware to meet user needs
• Ensures applications delivered via the network operate effectively
• Installs PC workstation software, patches/fixes, and upgrades
• Identifies problems and then helps users troubleshoot these problem

Qualifications

• Relevant technical training or Associate Degree
• A+, Microsoft Office Cert, etc. – Desired

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Working Knowledge of or experience with:
• Microsoft Office Suite, MS Server 2008 - 2016, Active Directory, and other related software
• Windows 7 - 10, Office 2010, Google Doc’s and various other applications for installation and support
• Administrative skills for Windows 7 - 10, Microsoft Office, Norton Antivirus; Ethernet, cabling, hubs, network protocols, printers, LCDs, and multimedia presentation technologies support
• Wireless network support

Relevant technical training or Associate Degree

A+, Microsoft Office Cert, etc. – Desired
