Punch Press Operator

Job Description

Summary/Objective:

Configure and operate electrically, hydraulically powered presses to cut, shape, and form metal, plastic, or other materials used in manufacturing operations.  Perform operations such as blanking, bending, punching, and forming based on blueprints and/or other instructions.

Essential Job Duties:

• Cutting/stripping material to size
• Configuring equipment
• Calibrating gauge settings
• Recognizing condition of dies
• Loading materials onto the equipment
• Utilize proper safety equipment
• Feeding material through die
• Positioning and removing parts from the die
• Package parts as required
• Keep a record of operational data
• Perform routine equipment maintenance
• Monitor work schedule to ascertain production information, such as size, type, and quantity to be processed
