HVAC Apprentice

Qualifications:

This position is responsible for assisting with the installation of commercial HVAC systems. The apprentice will be responsible to the Leadman for the efficient performance of a wide range of installation-related HVAC activities for industrial and commercial clients.  Communicate with the Leadman and other HVAC helpers on the project.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the installation of HVAC equipment, piping, duct and duct fittings as well as other products in accordance with Company requirements and manufacture specifications
• Fabricates and installs various duct and duct fittings

Job Requirements

• Able to read and understand blue prints
• Knowledge of HVAC parts and their functions
• Willingness to attend additional schooling as needed
• Ability to lift 75 pounds
• Able to work at heights
• Able to follow Federal, State and Local Safety requirements and safety precautions per company procedures and policies
• Able to work in hot and cold environments
• Physically capable of performing duties that include standing for long periods of time, walking and climbing ladders
• Basic math, verbal and reading skills
• Must be able to meet deadlines with the ability to work beyond normal working hours
• High School Diploma or equivalent GED (or if in a co-op program be working toward obtaining one)
• An acceptable state driving record
• Able to pass background check and pass drug screening
• Must maintain professional appearance

An HVAC apprentice must be able to work in an organized manner to the mutual benefit of the client and the company.  Daily job stress will range from minimal to moderate, based on such factors as the weather, site considerations, time constraints, travel requirements, and unique client needs.
