Maintenance Technician

 Job Summary Should be high school graduate or equivalent. Must have own set of tools. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds. Must be able to run basic Tool Room machinery. Must have three years related experience and/or specialized courses in plumbing, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Must have mechanical aptitude.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities Responsible for maintenance and upkeep of plant, contents and grounds.

Perform preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment.

Repair down machinery (mechanical, electrical, packing); repair hydraulic leaks (air, water, steam, oil); electrical repair (110, 220, 277, 440 volts); pre-heater repair, boiler operation knowledge, and carpenter, welder and mover, and plumbing.

Perform computer data input and inquiry as required.

Perform other related miscellaneous duties as assigned.

 Qualifications Education and Training:

Prefer high school diploma or equivalent. Demonstrated ability to work with hands and to work in mechanically oriented situations following supervisor’s instructions. Ability to follow instructions, given either orally or in writing. Ability to read and write and to follow detailed written instructions. Must have general knowledge of basic arithmetic. Should be able to gauge parts.

Experience:

This is an entry-level position. Initial training can be accomplished by on-the-job training. Any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities is a plus.
