Description
PURPOSE: Perform a wide variety of weatherization tasks utilizing many carpentry and home repair skills to minimize heat loss and increase thermal efficiency.JOB DUTIES:
Demonstrate a knowledge of weatherization concepts and techniques.
· Measure and install new doors.
· Install pre-hung doors.
· Rebuilds old door frames.
· Install vents, and termination kits for stove hoods and /or fans.
· Seal doors with prescribed materials.
· Orient client to weatherization tasks to be performed and provide information to clients on the day operations. (Crew Leaders).
· Provide work site supervision, and leadership promoting a positive team.
· Responsible for equipment and supplies assigned to him/her.
· Keep neat and accurate time, job and travel records.
· Keep tools in good repair, and work areas safe, clean, and secure, and agency safety policies followed.
· Perform other duties as needed.
Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS:
Fulfill the skill requirements and meet the standards.
· Must demonstrate good reading, writing skills, and be proficient in construction math. Including tape measure reading
· Problem solving skills.
· Must have the ability to provide work site supervision.
· Dependable. Able to work with limited supervision.
· Must provide the required hand tools.
· Valid driver’s license required. You must have a dependable pick-up truck, van or car that meets PWC requirements and have the required insurance coverage.
· I must be able to work effectively from a ladder and on a roof.
· Sensitivity to people and ability to work with and relate to people of diverse backgrounds.
· Offer positive suggestions and criticisms and be supportive of other staff.
· Must be able to develop a team approach with others.
· There must be a Weatherization Specialist position open, there is a limited number of positions.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to stand. The employee is occasionally required to walk; sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk and hear, wear a mask, tight spaces, and steep roofs.
· The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception.
· Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works in high, precarious places and in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and risk of electrical shock. The noise level is the work environment is usually moderate.
