Woody Sander Ford, Inc.’s story, Wilson “WOODY’ Sander was a star athlete at Elder High School and then at Xavier University. He was the sales manager for a local Ford franchise on Spring Grove Ave. He opened Woody Sander Ford in 1962, building the new dealership at I-75 and Mitchell Ave. Sadly Woody passed away in 1966, and his wife Ruth stepped in to run the franchise, becoming the first female automotive dealer in Cincinnati. In 1992 she transitioned the ownership to her sons William Sander, Thomas Sander, and son-in-law James Mullen. The family tradition continues in 2021. Woody’s grandson Mathew Sander partnered with long-time employees Ed Crawford (over 35 years of service) and Michael Kaiser (over 33 years of service) to become the third-generation owners of Woody Sander Ford.
