Description
MidPointe Library – Adult Services Programmer – Full Time, Middletown OH
Use your creativity, curiosity, and community spirit to design meaningful experiences that enrich our community. As part of the Community Engagement team, you’ll transform ideas into engaging events and programs that inspire, educate, entertain, and connect people to our many services.
You'll create, promote, and lead innovative and engaging programs for adults system-wide, oversee the Senior Lunch programs through the library system and oversee outside presenters for adult focused programs. You’ll also participate and assist in the planning of the summer reading program; work with the programming team to develop ideas for services and events in response to identified community needs; purchase needed program supplies and necessities; write event descriptions for the distributed calendar and blog posts; and prepare statistical information and reports.
MidPointe is located on the east side of Butler County, Ohio in a vibrant, dynamic, diverse community that enjoys community support. To Be Successful, you will need to:
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent. A degree in an associated field is helpful.
- Have a minimum of 2 years’ experience creating, preparing & presenting programs, activities, events, or classes in a variety of topics.
- Have a valid driver's license, maintain insurability, have reliable means of transportation to travel to the different event sites & drive a MidPointe vehicle when needed.
- Have strong communication & creativity to plan, present, and have training skills to instruct adult patrons.
- Must be able to effectively collaborate, problem solve, manage patron complaints, manage change & frequent interruptions; be organized, efficient, out-going, detail-oriented, innovative, and dependable.
- Have organizational & time management skills to prioritize & juggle multiple events & deadlines.
- Have excellent computer skills & be proficient with various software including graphics programs, & Microsoft Suite. Library software knowledge is very helpful.
- Have an expert level knowledge of popular reading materials, movies, music & interests, particularly for adults.
- Be able to learn and carry out the responsibilities of the position.
Hours:
Full time, 40 hours per week, typically Mon-Fri 8-5. Work schedule includes days, evenings & weekends as needed for scheduled programs, activities, and events.

Rate of Pay:
The pay range is $22.65 - $36.00 per hour, the rate depends on experience, job skills, education, and languages spoken.
Physical Requirements:
-Must be able to work indoors & outdoors in different temperatures & in areas that contain odors, dust & other possible allergens.
-Must be able to move carts, crates, & library equipment that could weigh up to 100+ pounds.
-Regular & predictable physical attendance & punctuality.
