Description
Accepting applications for the position of Animal Control Officer. This is animal apprehension and control work. Work involves apprehending and transporting dogs, cats and other animals. Work is performed under general supervision in accordance with applicable laws, ordinances and regulations. Position issues citations, and when necessary upon need, testifies in court.
Position includes frequent walking, standing and lifting or carrying of items up to 50 pounds. Enters and exits a vehicle numerous times throughout the day.
Salary Range: $37,498 to $49,432 annually plus benefits. All applicants will be required to take a written examination on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at 6:00 p.m.
Job Requirements
Requirements: High school diploma or GED. Possession of the National Animal Care and Control Association (NACA) certification and/or possession of the Basic Humane Agent Training course certification by Ohio Police Officer Training Academy (OPOTA). If not certified at the time of hire date, one of the two certifications must be obtained within 6 months of hire date and the second certification must be obtained within 18 months of hire date.
