Description

This position assists with the planning and supervision of the Campus Store general merchandise areas to include all retail locations. Responsible for the day-to day supervision, development and training of the staff that supports the daily operations in each unit for entire lifecycle of inventory. Availability for evenings and weekends and special events during academic year including but not limited to athletic events, commencement, orientation, and alumni weekend.

Job Requirements

Duties/Physical Demands:
Enforces/Coaches to University and Departmental policies, procedures, work rules, performance standards, and codes of conducts at the Miami University Campus store, with direct attention within specified working area.

Coordinates on-the-job training, staff development and goal setting, as well as customer service training for all direct reporting staff, and provides feedback with emphasis on upholding customer service standards and risk management practices.

Implements and directs all logistics for special sales, promotions, merchandise resets, and events. Manages a customer feedback systems to ensure that customer service standards are being met. Coordinates all in-store efforts with Marketing staff.

Responsible for merchandising and sales of merchandise in assigned categories. Ensure that product presentation meets the needs and expectations of our customers. Review of metrics against set targets and works with full-time and student staff to adjust to meet those goals.

Leads staff through inventory processes and procedures. Works within systems to true up inventory levels.

Oversee the receiving of product to the sales floor, pricing, and shelving of all merchandise. Works with appropriate staff and systems to adjust SOH. Communicates directly with buyers on turns and trends.

Ability to open/close store. Assist in supporting and maintaining the store’s computer systems, cash registers and security systems. Acts as manager on duty and supervises all aspects of floor activity.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor Degree in Merchandise, Business Administration or Management; and/or Associate's, Vocational or Technical School degree; and/or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or 1-3 years experience.
