Biomaterials Manufacturing Technician

*** This is a full-time position, 1st shift, $18.00/hour***

Fast-growing medical device manufacturer located in the suburbs of Cleveland, OH seeks skilled technicians to make wound care devices. Duties and Responsibilities: In this role, the individual will be primarily responsible for cleanroom packaging of medical devices. Other responsibilities may include:

• Manual assembly of product into primary sterile barrier packaging
• Setup, operation, and teardown of filling equipment
• Setup and operation of heat-sealing equipment
• Setup and operation of label printers and label application equipment
• Measuring mass and volume of chemical compounds
• Mixing chemicals as directed by standard work instructions
• Picking raw materials from inventory locations
• Documenting work performed in batch records as directed by standard work instructions
• Collecting samples of product for quality assurance purposes
• Performing quality assurance activities such as pH testing and torque testing
• Manually cleaning and disinfecting the equipment and supplies used in the manufacture of the product
• Regular cleaning and disinfection of the cleanroom areas
• Comply with FDA Good Manufacturing Practice and Good Documentation Practice guidelines

Qualifications:

• A High School Diploma/GED is required
• A 2-year technology degree in engineering or other scientific field is highly desirable.
• The ability to count and perform basic math calculations such as addition, subtraction, and evaluation of greater-than or less-than scenarios is required. Must also have the ability to add, subtract and evaluate time in 24-hour (military) format.
• Previous experience working in a cleanroom environment is highly desirable
• The ability to perform basic measurements such as length, liquid volume, mass, and pH.
• The ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
• The ability to read, understand and perform technical procedures written in the English language.
• Attention to detail and the ability to complete the paperwork required for medical device manufacturing.
• The ability to work in a team environment.

Language Skills:

Candidate must have the ability to read, analyze and interpret general technical procedures and government regulations written in the English language. Must also be able to effectively respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and auditors in the English language.

Work Environment:

A majority of the individual’s time will be spent in the manufacturing area, which consists of a mix of cleanroom and lab-style manufacturing spaces. Functions will be performed in both a sitting and standing position at times. When in the cleanroom, the individual will be expected to wear designated gowning and follow standard anti-contamination practices. All areas are environmentally controlled.

Working Hours (1st Shift):

7:00am-3:30pm Monday-Friday
