Description
Position Summary
The CAD Technician performs daily drafting and design functions to create the products for the client based on the specific requirements. The CAD Technician assists the on-staff engineers by preparing plans for construction projects The CAD Technician also assists staff in acquiring maps and records maintained by the office, formulates charts, and develops graphic materials.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Draw accurate and understandable drawings while adhering to CAD standards as established by the jurisdiction.
- Create and manage electronic document file structure, and naming convention in accordance with company or client standards.
- Interacts with and provides support to various personnel within and outside the organization.
- Maintain file management of AutoCAD files and other documents
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
- Associates Degree in drafting, computer graphics, civil engineering, engineering field surveying, mathematics, or a related field is required.
- Certification in CAD/Drafting is preferred.
Experience
- At least one year experience preparing surveying and mapping work products.
- At least one year experience utilizing drafting software to prepare work products.

Technology
- Experience with drafting software.
- Experience with Microsoft Office.
