Casting Specialist – Weekend AM Shift

The regular schedule for this role is Weekend AM Shift - Friday through Sunday, 6:00AM-6:00PM.

This role is also eligible for a  12% Shift Differential. 

Summary

The Casting Specialist is responsible for setting up and operating all casting machines, furnaces, and other casting equipment. Also works to maintain the equipment that is used, by cleaning and ordering new parts for the machines.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain different casting machines independently, such as the Aluminum continuous caster, J-Furnace, K-Furnace, L-Furnace and VIM Furnace.

• Operate the Aluminum direct-chill semi continuous casters.

• Order consumable parts for the operation of casting equipment.

• Calculate and load charges.

• Train in and follow Lean Methods.

• Clean and maintain furnaces and other casting equipment.

• Other related duties.

Education

• High School diploma or equivalent.

• Previous experience with casting/manufacturing equipment is a plus.

Skills and Qualifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability and willingness to effectively participate as a member of a production team.

• Experience with safety related training for casting processes.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work in a hot and hazardous environment using personal protective equipment.

• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds on a regular basis.

• Frequent bending/twisting required.
