Description

To provide an on-the-job learning experience for students developing their respective craft skills within a multi-craft building maintenance team environment at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center (CCHMC).

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Work, as assigned, with the maintenance team within the various crafts of electrical, controls, plumbing, carpentry, utilities and heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) troubleshooting and repairing systems and components. Additionally, with the team, plan, coordinate and prioritize assigned maintenance work to properly execute. Attend and/or complete required CCHMC's training sessions and comply with OSHA guidance and standards in addition to, CCHMC Infection Control policies and procedures.

Follow policies and procedures governing the handling of confidential information as defined by CCHMC's mission and applicable laws and regulations. Review timeliness, accuracy, availability and security of information.

Pay Rate: $19.00/hr

Qualifications

  • Understanding of diversity appreciation by demonstrating respect and appreciation for the uniqueness of all individuals; leveraging differences in others' perspectives and ideas; appreciating cultural differences and adjusting one's approach to successfully integrate with others who are different from oneself.
  • Currently working toward technical degree/diploma in a related field OR Approved apprentice acquired Journeyman's License OR Equivalent combination of education and experience •1 year related experience.
  • Entry level knowledge of carpentry, HVAC, electric, controls or plumbing with good mechanical skills. Reading ability sufficient to interpret blueprints, written instructions and technical data.
  • Physical stamina sufficient to perform frequent bending, heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs unassisted and greater than 50 lbs assisted), extensive standing and/or walking.
  • Effective verbal, written and/or interpersonal communication skills
