Culinary Arts Assistant

The Culinary Arts Program receives numerous requests from the district and community to provide food and beverage services for events throughout the year, providing exposure for the students and Butler Tech.  The Culinary Arts Assistant will support the Culinary Arts Instructor and students with the execution of these events in order to assure continuity of programming for students.  Responsibilities will include but are not limited to events management, set-up and tear-down of events with students, and providing classroom support as needed.  Work hours will vary based on events scheduled.

SALARY:                                             

$17.71 – 21.27 per hour ($25,507.80 – $30,362.40 per year)

STATUS:                                             

Full Time

WORK YEAR:                                   

180 days/year; 8 hours/day

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent;
• Associate’s Degree in related area preferred;
• Minimum of two years full-time related work experience, prefer commercial production with experience in ordering and inventory control;
• ServSafe Food Handler Certification or ability to obtain;
• Experience with ProStart Curriculum is preferred;
• Willingness and ability to obtain Ohio Department of Education Educational Aide Permit and/or Substitute Teacher license;
• Ability to work independently as well as supervise students;
• Valid Ohio driver’s license and access to personal, insured vehicle during work hours;
• Effective and demonstrated problem-solving, critical thinking, analytical, oral and written communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills;
• History of strong work record, including good job attendance; and
• Documented evidence of acceptable criminal record as required by Ohio law and Board Policy
