MidPointe Library – Development Director – Full Time – Middletown, Ohio

You can fulfill our mission of enriching our community through access & experiences through our newly created Development Director position! We seek a creative, passionate, forward-looking individual to oversee all aspects of fundraising and development.
As development director, you'll collaborate with the executive director to establish a development plan & strategy to increase revenue; and seat, develop, and work with the library foundation. You'll also implement & manage the development & giving program; identify, cultivate & solicit donors; create giving opportunities such as gifts, bequests, annual & planned giving; establish, track & monitor giving metrics; grant procurement as applicable; acquire fundraising software; make revenue focused calls & visits; attend library events to fund-raise; and liaison with the library foundation.
MidPointe is located on the east side of Butler County, Ohio in a vibrant, dynamic, diverse community that enjoys community support. Nestled between Cincinnati and Dayton, the county has a wide variety of schools, entertainment, dining experiences, sports, and cultural events. We have something for everyone!
To Be Successful, you will need to:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent related experience is required. CFRE is a plus.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in fundraising including development principles, practices, concepts, skills & techniques.
- Must have a valid drivers’ license with an acceptable motor vehicle record, have continuous insurability on the library’s insurance, and have reliable transportation for travel to events, branches, and meetings.
- Ability to think strategically, analyze data, develop, and implement strategies for successful donor engagement and fundraising results.
- Excellent leadership skills needed include commitment; passion; strategic planning; integrity; vision; decisiveness; collaboration; managerial & supervisory; analytical reasoning; resourcefulness; attention to detail; sound judgment; able to work independently and with teams; and top-notch communication skills including public speaking in a passionate, professional manner.
- The ability to communicate effectively, professionally, clearly, and concisely both orally and in writing through multiple platforms is required.
- Excellent computer skills using various software programs such as fundraising software, databases, the Internet, Microsoft Office suite skills, and calendar software.
- Must possess sufficient manual dexterity to operate library equipment and perform general typing and keyboard operation that will enable assurance of position requirements.
- Must have regular and predictable attendance as required.
Rate of Pay:
The pay range for this job is $32.80 - $54.60, the pay rate will depend on job factors such as experience, job skills, education & certifications, and languages spoken. This is an exempt position, not eligible for overtime.
Hours:
The hours include days, evenings & weekends as needed for activities and events.
Physical Requirements:
-Must be able to work indoors & outdoors in different temperatures and in areas that contain odors, dust & other possible allergens.
-Must be able to move carts, crates & library equipment that could weigh up to 100 pounds.
