POLICE/FIRE 911 DISPATCHER
City of Middletown
To establish an Eligible List for the classification of Police/Fire 911 Dispatcher, the Middletown Civil Service Commission will conduct an open competitive examination. All applicants will be required to take a written and listening examination on Saturday, November 18, 2017. Primary responsibilities for this position include receiving, dispatching, and processing calls and messages for police, fire and rescue services. Dispatchers rotate through three separate shifts. Qualified candidates selected for further processing will complete interview, typing exam, background check, polygraph exams, and a psychological assessment. Starting salary: $16.29 per hour plus shift differential, opportunity for overtime, and benefits.
Job Requirements
High School Diploma or GED, and some experience in public contact work requiring clear and rapid response to inquiries; or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
