Pay Rate: $26-35 DOE

Key responsibilities:

• Reading and interpreting blueprints: Accurately interpret technical drawings and specifications to determine the required cuts, shapes, and assembly of steel components.
• Metal cutting and shaping: Utilize power tools like plasma cutters, saws, shears, and bending machines to cut and shape steel pieces to the exact dimensions needed.
• Welding: Perform various welding techniques to join steel components securely, ensuring proper weld quality and adherence to safety standards.
• Assembly and fitting: Fit and assemble fabricated steel components on-site, ensuring precise alignment and proper connections using bolts, nuts, and other fasteners.
• Lifting and positioning: Utilize lifting equipment like cranes and hoists to maneuver heavy steel pieces into place.
• Quality control: Regularly inspect welds and fabricated parts to ensure compliance with quality standards and safety regulations.
• Site preparation:Prepare work areas by clearing debris and ensuring proper access for fabrication and installation tasks.

Required skills:

• Strong mechanical aptitude: Understanding of basic mechanical principles and ability to work with various tools and machinery.
• Welding proficiency: Skilled in different welding techniques like MIG, TIG, and stick welding.
• Blueprint reading skills: Ability to accurately interpret and translate blueprints into physical components.
• Math skills: Basic math skills to calculate measurements and angles.
• Physical strength and stamina: Capacity to lift and maneuver heavy steel pieces.
• Attention to detail: High level of precision needed for accurate cuts and assembly
