Engineering/Maintenance Tech (10353)

Job Description

This position reports to the Maintenance Manger and has a good working knowledge of all aspects of the manufacturing facility. This person will be responsible for insuring that the manufacturing equipment is running at peak efficiencies. In the event of an equipment breakdown this person will prioritize the issues with the assistance of the Maintenance Manager or Value Stream Manager and direct the maintenance personnel accordingly. This person will also keep the maintenance manager informed of any issues with personnel and the Manufacturing and Ancillary equipment in the facility. This position also gives technical advice to the subordinate technicians and assists in the resolution of ongoing issues. This position supports the team by assisting with safety audits, manufacturing tours, and attending meetings with internal management resources and external vendors and issuing timely shift updates and pass down reports. Items that require immediate attention are relayed to management in the most effective form possible, be that verbal, phone, text, email or other.

Working overtime, alternate shifts and Holidays may be required, so a flexible work schedule is a must.

• Ability to use a multitude of electrical and mechanical test equipment and tools
• Operation of the Building Automation System (BAS).
• Housekeeping of the Maintenance Ownership areas to include the Maintenance Shop, Boiler room, Penthouse and Compressor area, Maintenance computer area and other areas as required to support the team. Support of the 5S mentality
• Timely closure of Routine and NRWO with proper documentation, e.g. Logbooks filled out and work order is detailed.  Any issues are brought to management’s attention.

 

 

Position Requirements

Education Required:

High School Diploma or Equivalent.

Experience Preferred:

3-5 years of working experience in a manufacturing maintenance department. Pharmaceutical experience is a plus.

**Technical Training and/or working experience in a trade will also be considered (HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical)

Functional Knowledge:

Strong mechanical skills, electrical troubleshooting competency, basic understanding of PLC, VFD, Hydraulics, Pneumatics. Ability to use a variety of hand and shop tools safely
