Description
As a member of the Warehouse Team, the Forklift Operator reports to the Warehouse Supervisor/ Manager. he Warehouse Associate is responsible for accurate and timely loading and unloading of trucks, and to maintain the loading dock area (both inside and outside) clean and in good condition. The operator should comply with all safety rules, GMPs and Food Safety or Food Quality.
Job Requirements
Responsible for complying with food safety, food security, Quality, GMP's, HAACP, Allergen/ Sensitizer as well as other regulations as required.
Will be certified in the operations of all forklift machinery in his or her area of responsibility.
Responsible for ensuring the quality and integrity of the product based on customer requirements and/or specifications and providing an extra quality check on product being transferred.
Responsible for duplicating and communicating all safety and good manufacturing practices in accordance with company policy as well as all other company policies.
Unload supplies from incoming trucks and put in designated areas. Check count of incoming supplies.
Load trucks with the proper finished product. Check amounts of product as loading.
Ability to load a variety of customer loads as per customer specification.
Ability to properly document loading activities to include trailer inspection, pallet type / condition, and any needed corrective actions to meet customer expectations.
Conduct daily inspection of fork lifts to including checking forklift for oil, water, etc. every day before starting up the machine. Add oil, water, etc. as necessary.
Perform any other driving activities as directed by supervision.
Knowledge of hand scanners and SAP a plus
Represents the company in a positive manner at all times.
Adheres to company policies and safety requirements as defined.
Must be willing to work in hot and cold temperatures
Other duties as assigned by management.
Additional responsibility could include:
Driving a warehouse floor scrubber
Assisting /directing truck drivers (spotting)
SKILLS & ABILITIES Required
High School diploma or equivalent
Ability to work any shift assigned.
Demonstrated ability to understand units of measure and record information.
Ability to read, comprehend, and following written work-related instructions
Effective verbal communication skills.
Ability to track and record production information as necessary.
Positive attitude with a strong attendance record
Must have forklift experience and have operated a forklift within the last 6 months.
Experience in the operation of propane, electric, dual lifts, and stand-up forklifts in a fast-paced and highly stressful environment.
Must lift up to 50# by self.
