Description
A Civil Service exam to establish an Eligibility List for the position of Greenskeeper will be conducted on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at 6 pm, at the Fairfield High School Community Room located at: 8800 Holden Blvd., Fairfield, Ohio 45014.
Candidates for this position will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining turf conditions of the golf courses and supervise golf course employees to assure top-quality playing conditions.
Job Requirements
Requirements and Qualifications: Requires Ohio Spraying license or ability to acquire within 90 days of hire; experience with fertilizers, pesticides and herbicides; knowledge of and experience with tools and equipment used in golf course maintenance; effective interpersonal and communication skills. Requires high school diploma or GED and valid driver’s license; Must obtain Commercial Driver’s License during probationary period.
Preferred Qualifications: 3+ years of experience on a golf course with a history of increasing responsibilities. Awareness of construction, establishment and maintenance practices employed on golf course putting greens, tees, fairways, roughs and bunkers. Certification in Turf Management preferred.
