Description

To troubleshoot and repair systems and components and inspect and complete service requests in a timely efficient manner for the Building Maintenance Department.

Key responsibilities of the role:

  • Routinely inspecting & performing preventative maintenance HVAC systems/equipment.
  • Installing, maintaining and repairing ventilation and air conditioning systems and equipment.
  • Responding, Identifying and repairing faults or issues.
  • Troubleshooting system failures.
  • Reviewing and understanding how to read blueprints.
  • Conducting maintenance repairs on old or faulty equipment.
  • Providing suggestions for equipment replacement.
  • Writing HVAC maintenance reports.
  • Installing new HVAC equipment in the building.
  • Adhering to safety and performance standards.

Due to the 2nd shift nature of this role it is eligible for a $4.00/hr shift differential.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 3, with 5 or more preferred, years in commercial experience as an HVAC technician, and willingness to continue education in HVAC field.
  • Knowledge of standard practices of the HVAC and refrigeration trade.

Preferred:

  • Proficient in balancing air and water treatment systems in line with HVAC protocols.
  • Understanding of advanced principles of air conditioning, refrigeration and heating.
  • Experience in a hospital work environment.
  • Experience with electrical systems.
  • Experience with commercial ice machines
  • Proficient in electrical diagnostic skills.
  • Ability to operate a variety of hand and power tools.
  • Welding and soldering techniques.
  • Good problem-solving skills & critical thinking.
  • Analyze data from routine maintenance and identifying potential malfunctions.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • EPA 608 certification.
