Description
To troubleshoot and repair systems and components and inspect and complete service requests in a timely efficient manner for the Building Maintenance Department.
Key responsibilities of the role:
- Routinely inspecting & performing preventative maintenance HVAC systems/equipment.
- Installing, maintaining and repairing ventilation and air conditioning systems and equipment.
- Responding, Identifying and repairing faults or issues.
- Troubleshooting system failures.
- Reviewing and understanding how to read blueprints.
- Conducting maintenance repairs on old or faulty equipment.
- Providing suggestions for equipment replacement.
- Writing HVAC maintenance reports.
- Installing new HVAC equipment in the building.
- Adhering to safety and performance standards.

Due to the 2nd shift nature of this role it is eligible for a $4.00/hr shift differential.
Qualifications
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 3, with 5 or more preferred, years in commercial experience as an HVAC technician, and willingness to continue education in HVAC field.
- Knowledge of standard practices of the HVAC and refrigeration trade.
Preferred:
- Proficient in balancing air and water treatment systems in line with HVAC protocols.
- Understanding of advanced principles of air conditioning, refrigeration and heating.
- Experience in a hospital work environment.
- Experience with electrical systems.
- Experience with commercial ice machines
- Proficient in electrical diagnostic skills.
- Ability to operate a variety of hand and power tools.
- Welding and soldering techniques.
- Good problem-solving skills & critical thinking.
- Analyze data from routine maintenance and identifying potential malfunctions.
- Excellent communication skills.
- EPA 608 certification.
