Full-Time, Part-Time and PRN(As Needed) Cooks Needed

Line Cook must provide for the organized, consistent and timely performance of all aspects of line execution from a restaurant model (grill, sauté, fry, and broil). Take verbal orders from cook expediting tickets, read and execute ticket orders, and be able to perform and organize simultaneous multiple plate execution in an appealing manner at the direction of the Chef.  Must be approachable, customer service driven, and cooperative in dealing with both staff and resident issues.

• Performs all aspects of Line Cook (grill, sauté, fry, broil…)

• Take verbal orders from Chef.

• Produces accurate and correct amounts of food products in a timely manner through

• Follow standardized recipes.

• Pre prep and/or prep

• Assist other kitchen staff, when needed, in preparation and line set up in advance of meal-service.

• Proper handling of equipment (knives, pots, pans, skillets, baking sheets),

• Proper hand washing, minimal cross-contamination, ensures proper storage and compliant labeling of all supplies, both perishable and non-perishable.

• Daily cleaning of prep area as needed and at the direction of the Executive Chef/Chef Manager or Lead Line Cook.

• Receive and store delivered products: Stock inventory appropriately (when applicable)

• Receptive and positively responds to instruction.

• Demonstrates consistent attendance, punctuality and proper notification to Executive Chef/Chef Manager or Lead Line Cook.

• Strong customer service and problem solving skills essential.

• Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards

• Assist in pantry organization.

• Direct Servers when orders are prepared or their status of preparation.

• Interaction with all Dining Services staff in a courteous and professional manner at all times.

• Proper Kitchen sanitation

Education:  High School Diploma preferred not required

Licenses or other required certifications:  ServSafe food handling certification preferred

Experience: Minimum 6 months experience in foodservice production. 1 or more years in high volume restaurant/retail food services setting preferred.

Specialized knowledge, skills, or abilities:

• Work and moves in Dining Services area(s).

• Consistent movement on feet and use of both arms and legs simultaneously.

• Is involved with residents, personnel, visitors, government agencies/personnel, etc., under all conditions and circumstances.

• Subject to frequent interruptions.

• Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 30 pounds

• May work beyond normal working hours and in other positions temporarily when necessary.  Flexible schedule will often be required to meet operational needs.

• Is subject to hostile and emotionally upset residents, family members, personnel and visitors.

• Is subject to a LOW exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions etc., including TB and the AIDS and Hepatitis B viruses. Every precaution must always be taken to protect you through personal protective equipment and other safety dev
