As a Machining Center Operation you will set up and operate CNC machine to perform such machining operations as reaming, milling, drilling and boring
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Receive work assignment; secure drawings, set-up sketch, program and tool list
  • Position workpiece on pallet or table with aid of remote overhead crane or hoist if needed; secures to pallet or table using wrenches, holding fixtures and devices
  • Edit programs as needed, upload edits
  • Insert specified preset cutting tool in rotary tool magazine
  • Start machine to position indexing table and tool holder; select tool; machine part with mills, drills, taps, boring bars and other tools
  • Verify dimensions after each machining operation, using bore gauges, micrometers or probes
  • Maintain continuous operation by loading other pallets during machining cycle of initial set-up
  • Perform very close machining operations such as reaming, milling, drilling, boring on parts such as gear boxes, pump boxes, guides, cylinder heads, connecting links and others of similar complexity
  • Frequently operates machine manually by manipulating buttons, switches and/or engaging power as required, determination of speeds, feeds, and set-up without aid of sketches
  • Lubricates machine as needed
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area and perform all assignments in a safe manner and in accordance with established quality procedures

Job Requirements

-High School diploma or certificate of equivalency
-Technical school certificate or degree preferred
-Ability to read and interpret prints
-Must know GD&T
-Excellent math skills
-Attention to detail

-Understanding of machine programming with ability to interpret and edit
-Ability to set up and probe programs
-Ability to use micrometers and gauges
-PC skills
