Description
JOB SUMMARY
We are looking for a skilled Maintenance worker to perform upkeep tasks such as repairs and cleaning. Responsible for applying basic fixes to equipment and building systems and ensure facilities are tidy and functional. The ideal candidate will have experience and solid technical knowledge. Candidate must also possess manual dexterity and physical stamina. Set up, adjust, and maintain assigned equipment with responsibility for production and quality on this equipment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Analyzes mechanical and operational problems on assigned equipment and plans for and takes corrective action. Makes necessary corrections and running adjustments to maintain maximum production and quality.
Reviews production schedule and when equipment is not scheduled for manufacturing, changes over equipment to new sizes or performs scheduled maintenance.
Tests equipment to check operation. Clears jams and sets aside product for inspection and rework. Tries out equipment after repairs, changeovers or extended downtime.
Examines, tests, and measures product from assigned equipment for quality specifications, using gauges and instruments, and records data on appropriate forms. Checks product for visual defects.
Makes preventive maintenance check and inspection of assigned equipment, reports findings to supervisor and takes appropriate action.
Examines defects and analyzes spoilage causes and, where possible, takes corrective action. Analyzes and records cause of production delays on daily production report.
Maintain buildings to include the repair of windows, door, roof, floors, stairways; construct shop partitions, bins, racks, pallets and shipping crates; shovel snow; cut grass; oil and lubricate machines and equipment.
Repair and adjust small machines, e.g. drill presses, punch presses, grinding and buffing heads, riveters, bench power and hand tools to involve replacement of bearings, spindles, electrical switches, etc.
Work from drawings, sketches, specifications and instruction manuals
Use scale, square, levels, miscellaneous power bench tools, wrenches, carpentry tools, etc.
Instructs and directs any maintenance trainees assigned. May oil and grease equipment in absence of oiler and greaser.
Performs product examination and rework when line is down due to causes beyond mechanic's control.

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of conditions The noise level in the work environment can be loud.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing throughout day. The employee must frequently lift or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Job Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS and EXPERIENCE
Proven experience as maintenance mechanic or other similar positionBasic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems
Experience using hand and electrical tools
Ability to read technical manuals and drawings
Very good communication and interpersonal skills
Physical stamina and dexterity
High school diploma or equivalent
