What we are looking for - Manual Machinist
We are looking for a skilled Manual Machinist to join our team. As a Manual Machinist for IPS, you will identify problems and make necessary adjustments as they relate to industrial AC/DC electric motors and generators. You will use a variety of manual machining tools and balancing equipment for rotating machinery, while following service center safety procedures.

Job Requirements
Relevant Experience:
Ability to work from drawings, sketches and blueprints
Knowledge of welding techniques, including TIG, oxy-fuel and arc welding
Ability to accurately read micrometer measuring equipment
Ability to operate manual lathes of various sizes and dimensions
Ability to operate electro-plating equipment
Ability to perform basic math functions
Ability to understand, perform and retain various job-related training, operational and safety procedures
Ability to frequently lift and maneuver objects weighing up to 50 pounds
Willing to work overtime and weekends as required
Preferred Experience:
Successful completion of a hands-on apprenticeship
3 or more years’ experience as a machinist in the electric motor repair industry
Responsibilities:
Operate manual machining tools: engine lathes, horizontal lathes, milling machines, grinders, drilling machines, and related equipment
Safely operate overhead and gantry cranes, lift trucks, and associate lift rigging equipment
Perform mechanical measurements using portable mechanical instruments such as dial indicators, micrometers, and portable vibration measurement equipment
