Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
Manufacturing Technicians work with assembly personnel, toolmakers and manufacturing engineers to troubleshoot day-to-day production and assembly problems on current manufacturing production lines as well as setting up equipment and processes that require technical judgment. The technician is to own the equipment and fixturing utilized for production lines and is to maintain the calibration cycles when applicable. Preventative maintenance and repair of production equipment will also be a focused task. The tech will also be responsible for identifying continuous improvement opportunities and assisting in the implementation of process improvements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:
- Able to use abilities and resources to repair any defective production equipment
- Demonstrates ability to trouble shoot basic equipment and processes
- Demonstrates ability to understand mechanical and electrical systems
- Demonstrates ability to perform administrative tasks such as filling out equipment forms and modifying process documentation within AtriCure’s documentation systems
- Sustains production processes, sets-up, maintains and verified production equipment, manages equipment calibration, and confirms production associates comply with training methods and documentation
- Monitors scrap rates, performs time-studies, and assesses process efficiencies. Communicates this information to manufacturing and operations management effectively
- Responds to manufacturing quality issues by conducting root cause investigations and identifies and implements corrective actions
- Assists Manufacturing Engineers in development of new processes and line layouts for new product roll-outs
- Develops process qualifications and properly documents all work in compliance with AtriCure Quality System requirements
- Identifies and implements manufacturing and product-related cost reduction opportunities by working with Manufacturing Engineering to develop related equipment and fixtures
- Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma required or demonstrated equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
3 years of experience in a comparable position
Ability to read blueprints, drawings, specifications
Assembly experience
Strong Mechanical Aptitude
Written/Report writing skills
Effective verbal communication skills
Computer/Data Entry skills
Problem solving/troubleshooting experience
Understand dimensional tolerancing
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Associates Degree or above in technical field
Electrical Mechanical experience strongly preferred
Inspection/Testing Experience
Process Validation experience
Data Analysis Experience
Statistical Use Experience
Engineering/Design Background
Lean Manufacturing experience
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to regularly walk, sit, or stand as required
Ability to occasionally bend and push/pull
Ability to regularly lift up to 30 pounds, occasionally lift up to 30 pounds
Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
