- Reporting Relationship Title
Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor
Travel: Occasionally
II. Purpose of Position
Responsible for installing, maintaining, or repairing electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures. Ensures that work is completed in accordance with relevant codes.
III. Position Responsibilities and Job Functions
- Review specifications to plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment or fixtures, based on job requirements and local codes.
- Assemble and install electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures using hand tools and power tools.
- Construct and fabricate parts using power or hand tools and specifications; connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, outlets, switches, or other components.
- Test all assemblies, installations, or repairs on electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus and fixtures. Inspect electrical system, equipment, or components to ensure compliance with codes and to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair.
- Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, or components, using test equipment and tools, to locate the cause of a problem.
- Install ground leads, connect power cables to equipment
- Place conduit, pipes, or tubing inside designated walls, partitions, or other concealed structural places and pull insulated wires or cables through the conduit to complete circuits between boxes.
- May install or service streetlights, intercom systems, or electrical control systems.
- Attends or completes periodic safety training sessions for the electrical industry.
- Maintains a favorable working relationship with other employees to promote a cooperative and harmonious work environment.
- Communicates clearly and directly with supervisors, other employees and clients.
- Responsible for suggesting methods to improve processes, efficiency, and service to both internal and external customers.
- Support the I-85 process.
- Will follow established programs, policies and practices to produce safe quality foods that meet regulatory and company requirements.
- Will support the development, implementation, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of the SQF 2000 Systems.
- Will be accountable to the Kroger Manufacturing Food Safety and Quality Principles.
- Conducts required Quality Observations.
- Keeps work areas clean, safe, and organized at all times while working.
- Participate in all plant iniatives.
- Work in a safe manner following all department and plant safety rules.
- Skill Required
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) plus completed apprenticeship as electrician; or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of electrical systems in houses, buildings, or other. Knowledge of principles of electricity, circuits, electronic equipment, machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small groups situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
- Ability to calculate figures such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Position Relationship
To work closely with the Plant Engineer, Operations Manager, Engineering Staff, Maintenance Staff.
