Notice is hereby given that the City of Blue Ash, Ohio, will administer a written exam for the position of Mayor's Court Coordinator.  This exam will establish an eligibility list for future vacancies within the full-time Mayor's Court Coordinator classification.

APPLICATION DATES AND PROCEDURES:  Applicants must apply through the City of Blue Ash website on or before 5:00 p.m.. Wednesday, April 10, 2019 in order to register for the exam.  Applicants will be notified by email of the examination date, time, and location.

WRITTEN EXAMINATION: The Written Examination will constitute 100% of the total score.  Applicants must receive a passing score (70%) in order to be eligible for the list.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:  The work in this class involves varied and complex Mayor's Court activities requiring a high degree of responsibility and integrity.  The Mayor's Court Coordinator is responsible for the custody of court funds and for the preparation of all papers and records incident to court activity.  The Mayor's Court Coordinator conducts daily activities of Mayor's Court administration and supervision with a high degree of independence, reporting to the Support Services Bureau Supervisor and Captain for general direction and guidance.  The employee in this class supervises other employees who work in and assist with Mayor's Court activities.

Job Requirements

Comprehensive knowledge of court procedures and business management practices; administrative skills; supervisory skills; computer, word processing, and database experience; clerical skills; ability to plan, organize and coordinate the work of subordinate employees; tact in dealing with the public; good physical condition and neat appearance. Ability to successfully pass and maintain RCIC Mod 1 and 2 certification.

ACCEPTABLE EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING: Considerable experience in court operations preferred; experience in Mayor's Court administration; preferably some general administrative experience; completion of a standard high school course, supplemented by college level courses in relevant fields such as accounting and preferably an Associate or Bachelor's Degree in accounting, business administration, or finance; working knowledge of computers; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Experience with the Baldwin Mayor's Court Information System software is preferred.
