Mechanic

The City of Middletown is accepting applications for the position of Mechanic.   Salary Range:  $23.40 - $31.31 hourly plus benefits. This is skilled mechanical work in the preventive maintenance and repair of city owned vehicles and equipment. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Garage Superintendent. Normal hours of work are 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Requirements:  High School Diploma or GED with experience in repairing gas and diesel motors and equipment units, buses, vehicles, and apparatus.  Necessary Special Requirements: Possession of a valid Ohio Driver’s License or a valid Ohio Class “A” Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with proper endorsements (passenger bus with no-passenger restriction; combination vehicle and air brakes).  Possession of a CDL is not a requirement to obtain this position but CDL must be obtained within 6 months of hire date (CDL training provided by the City and one test paid for by the City). EPA 608/609 Certification regarding the handling of Freon required within 6 months of hire date. ALL applicants are invited to take a written examination on Wednesday, October 11, 2023.
