Description

Internal Medicine Practice in Hyde Park is seeking qualified medical assistant full time.  This is a busy practice with four physicians.  This position is one of four medical assistants.  This position is Monday to Friday, 8:00 - 4:45pm.  There is occasional overtime.  Medical assisting will include clinical and administrative responsibilities.

 

Job Requirements

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Prepare patients for exam
• Assist physicians as required
• Sterilize medical instruments
• Measure vital signs
• Administer injections
• Explain medical information to patients. This includes doctor’s instructions, lab results, prescriptions, etc.
• Call in prescriptions
• Prepare, clean and stock exam rooms for patient care
• Completing forms
• Scanning Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
• Document in paper charts and EMR
• Pulling reports (e.g., OARRS)
• Responsible for creating a positive impression with patients, family members and other visitors in the office
• Preauthorization’s
• Other duties as required/assigned

Requirements:
• Medical assistant experience preferred but will train the right person
• High school diploma or GED required
• Appropriate vaccines (hepatitis, TB test, chicken pox, must take flu vaccine in the fall)
• Knowledge of HIPAA, OSHA, Blood Borne Pathogens, Practice Management System and EMR
