Description
We are looking for someone to teach part-time, as a contractor, for some or all of the Semester 2 classes in the Medical Assistant department. The dates are 7/10/17-10/23/17. The classes run Mondays-Thursdays 9am-2pm and vary based on the class. The classes are: Pharmacology Medical Office Procedures II Clinical Procedures II Anatomy & Physiology II
INSTRUCTOR RESPONSIBILITIES: MA instructors must utilize instructional plans, direct and assess student progress in achieving theory (content- cognitive) and performance (competencies: psychomotor and affective) requirements of the program. In addition MA instructors are required to effectively perform all job criteria, duties, and responsibilities outlined in this document.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES A. Facilitate Student Learning by Preparing for Instruction • Develop and implement course of study by articulating clear learning goals that are appropriate for the medical assistant student. • Develop, maintain, and reasonably control tools, printed material, audiovisual materials, equipment, trainers, and classroom furniture effectively. • Monitor student progress effectively by selecting appropriate evaluation strategies. B. Establish an Environment that Promotes Student Learning • Establish a friendly classroom environment that promotes fairness. • Maintain rapport with students and peers in classroom and related student activities. • Establish appropriate learning expectations for students when preparing lessons. • Develop and maintain fair, firm, positive, and consistent discipline procedures. • Maintain an organized, clean and attractive classroom, laboratory, and office that meets current safety standards. C. Instruct for Student Learning • Present clear learning goals and instructional procedures that students understand. • Conduct classroom demonstrations that are well organized and appropriate to the curriculum and use class time effectively and efficiently. • Encourage students to develop critical thinking skills. • Monitor students learning, vary teaching techniques, and adjust learning activities to maximize student achievement. D. Maintain Professionalism • Evaluate to determine if learning goals were met and adjust curriculum accordingly. • Exhibit enthusiasm and a positive attitude in the teaching/learning process. • Treat individuals, colleagues, and students with dignity and respect to build professional relationships and share teaching insights. • Use appropriate communication skills to convey student progress to students in an honest, tactful, timely, and consistent manner. • Communicate with businesses and community as needed. • Model professional behavior, integrity, and cooperation. • Enhance the school image at all times.

Job Requirements
Must be credentialed in Medical Assisting with CMA (AAMA) or RMA (AMT)
Must have minimum of 3 years of work experience in ambulatory healthcare.
Must have minimum of 40 hours performing or observing MA duties in ambulatory setting.
