Liberty EyeCare is a family owned and operated optometry practice and optical shop in West Chester, Ohio. We are growing and seeking a medical receptionist to join our team. Primary responsibilities will include patient check-in, check-out, scheduling appointments, management of phone calls, insurance verification and billing. Strong customer service skills are a must. Knowledge of vision and medical insurance is a plus.

This position will cross-train as an optometric technician and will, at times, assist with patient pretesting, special testing, contact lens insertion & removal training.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • ‪Provide exceptional customer service
  • Patient check-in, check-out, scheduling appointments, management of phone calls
  • Insurance verification and billing
  • ‪Compute and process payment transactions/refunds using in-house Point of Sale system (My Vision Express)
  • ‪Process insurance claims (VSP, Eyemed, Spectera, Davis Vision)
  • ‪Maintain up-to-date knowledge of products
  • ‪Maintain knowledge of current sales and promotions as well as policies regarding payment, returns, exchanges
  • Create and maintain patient files, following company and HIPAA policies regarding confidentiality
  • Pretesting duties (Optomap, autorefraction/keratometry, iCare, neurolens)
  • Special testing duties (OCT, fundus photography, pachymetry, visual field testing)
  • Teach patients how to insert, remove and care for contact lenses
  • Perform other administrative tasks as assigned

Education and Experience Requirements

  • ‪High School Diploma or GED
  • ‪Experience working in the eye care industry is preferred
