Notice is hereby given that the City of Blue Ash, Ohio, will administer a written exam for the position of Police Patrol Officer. This exam will establish an eligibility list for future vacancies within the full-time Police Patrol Officer classification.
At the time of appointment, each applicant must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age; be a U.S. citizen; possess a valid driver's license; have a high school diploma or G.E.D.; and have no felony convictions. Individuals possessing an associate's degree or higher are preferred.
APPLICATION DATES AND PROCEDURES:
1. Applicants must apply through the City of Blue Ash website on or before Thursday, November 14, 2019.
2. Applicants will be notified by email to SELF-SCHEDULE an exam date and time through their governmentjobs.com account by or before Saturday, November 16, 2019. Once an applicant has self-scheduled, a confirmation email will be sent of the examination date, time, and location.
3. Applicants that have taken the Frontline National Exam through National Testing Network within the last year and your scores are still valid, you may contact www.nationaltestingnetwork.com and request that your scores be utilized for this test. You must make this request no later than Friday, November 15, 2019. Contact National Testing Network's Customer Support line at 866-563-3882 with questions or concerns. You do NOT need to schedule an exam date and time once you've submitted your scores through National Testing Network.
WRITTEN EXAMINATION: The Written Examination will constitute 100% of the total score. Only the top 60 applicants receiving the highest passing test scores on the written part of the examination will be allowed to proceed in the selection process. Any applicant who does not receive a written test score placing him/her within the top 60, but who receives a passing score on the written examination will be eligible to proceed in the selection process in the future event that all of the top 60 applicants have been removed from consideration.
EXAMINATION SCORES: All candidates who achieve an acceptable score and having completed an employment application through the City of Blue Ash website will be placed on an eligible-for-employment list ranked by their passing score plus any extra credit as described below. Tied scores will be ranked by the date and time candidates submitted an employment application on-line through the City of Blue Ash website. The eligible list may be in effect for a minimum of one year and up to two years. Note: Placement on an eligible list does not guarantee employment. Those applicants within the top sixty (60) highest passing test scores will proceed in the selection process.
Good social and general intelligence; ability to deal firmly and courteously with the public; good knowledge of first-aid methods; good judgment; some skill in the use of firearms; ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions; ability to drive an automobile under adverse conditions; good powers of agility; excellent physical condition.
