Preschool Teacher
Part-time
Monday - Friday 11:30 am - 5:30 pm
Colonial Schools
Hamilton, Ohio
Responsible for providing an enriching atmosphere where a child can grow and develop socially, emotionally and intellectually through play and work with his/her peers.  Responsible to the Director for implementing said atmosphere and following the policies and curriculum of the Westover Preparatory School.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the safety, supervision, direction and needs of children.
  • Responsible for communicating with parents.
  • Responsible for assisting Lead Teacher with lesson planning and implementation of lessons within the framework of school’s curriculum.
  • Provides a safe, clean and positive environment for learning.
  • Promotes academic, social, emotional and physical wellness for children.
  • Fosters a positive environment for teamwork between colleagues.
  • Promotes a positive image of Colonial Schools.
  • Responsible for supporting and promoting the mission of Colonial Schools.
  • Maintains training and educational requirements for employment.
  • Attends lesson plan meetings and monthly staff meetings.
  • Attend programs, orientations, or other special events as they are planned.
  • Responsible for knowledge and adherence of odjfs licensing rules and guidelines.
  • Responsible for knowledge and adherence of employee handbook.
  • Responsible for communicating with supervisor.

Job Requirements

Minimum Job Requirements

Education: Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field. High School Diploma plus 45 in-service hours earned in Early Childhood Development over a three year period. CD classes must be renewed every 3 years. 10 hours of approved step up to quality training each year.
Licenses or other required certifications: None.
Experience: One to three years’ experience in Early Childhood Education teaching, subbing or assisting a teacher is preferred.

Specialized knowledge, skills, or abilities: Knowledge of child development and learning behaviors, and knowledge of appropriate curriculum for pre-school and kindergarten children.
Other Requirements: FBI/BCI records check, employee medical statement, statement of non-conviction, employee orientation.
