Job Title: Quality Manager

Reports To: Chief Operating Officer

Job Purpose

This is an onsite position at the Cincinnati, OH facility. The Quality Manager is the strategic leader of the quality team and quality systems. The Quality Manager works across the company to develop processes that support the growth of the business, deliver products that adhere to customer expectations, and ensure compliance with regulatory and quality system standards.   The Quality Manager is a dynamic leader that works well with all departments solving tough challenges for our customers.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Builds, develops, and empowers the quality team through servant leadership and excellent communication skills
  • Directly leads a team of 3 people who cover the ISO system, internal auditing, customer complaints, internal CAPA program, etc.
  • Creates goals, objective plans, and development plans for the quality team to ensure personal, professional, and company growth
  • Works closely with the production test department of 12+ technicians to ensure root cause failure paretos and proper countermeasures are being executed
  • Responsible for the ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 17025:2017 systems running at the Cincinnati, Ohio and Sterling Heights, Michigan facilities
  • Sets a vision of the future within quality, communicates that vision to the team, and sets milestone goals to achieve that vision
  • Creates Key Performance Indicators and Metrics that measure performance and sets realistic goals that drive continuous improvement
  • Champions lean manufacturing and continuous improvement throughout the company by driving to root causes and working collaboratively to solve the toughest challenges
  • Champions safety initiatives and is constantly looking for ways to make the workplace safer to work in
  • Collaborates with sister factories to share best practices in quality and develop better systems for the broader Weiss Technik family of companies
  • Manages and forecasts the warranty expense budget by keeping a pareto of costs and action items to limit the company’s exposure
  • Supports customer on-site quality visits and leads customer driven audits of the quality system or operations
  • Structures and ensures key supplier audits are done and these business partners are delivering the quality and value we expect
  • Participates in key company quotations and budgets to look at new production opportunities through the quality lens
  • Works on any additional tasks or special projects as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience required
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to lead team members and colleagues required
  • Strong project management skills including effectively leading cross functional teams required
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
  • Organized, Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and ability to work with minimal supervision required
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to understand large sets of data required
  • Excellent computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office products required
  • Experience leading a highly engaged team is preferred
  • Experience working in quality in a manufacturing environment is preferred
  • Experience working with ISO:9001, ISO:17025, UL, and/or CE will aid in the transition to this position

Working Conditions

There is some flexibility to work from home, but the primary work location will be 12011 Mosteller Rd, Cincinnati OH 45241.  Works at a desk and a computer screen for extended periods of time.  Employee must be efficient with computers and be able to concentrate for long periods of time.  Periodic travel less than 1x per month is required for auditing and visiting other facilities.  When traveling, significant portions of travel time (both car and air) may involve extended sedentary periods.
