Description
This is a skilled position in the installation, maintenance, repair, and extension of electronic traffic control devices, communications systems and electrical wiring and equipment. Work involves responsibility for the performance of a variety of tasks requiring considerable knowledge of electronic theory and practices, in maintaining specialized electronic traffic control devices, radio communications systems, electrical installations, and computerized control. Duties involve maintenance, repair, testing, programming and operating various types of electronic and electrical equipment. Employee must have specialized skill and knowledge of the overall operation of the traffic control system, radio communications system, street lighting systems, and airport navigation system.
Position requires the necessary physical condition to perform work on ladders to 30 feet; and ability to climb into and work from a bucket of aerial lift/bucket truck to heights of 40 feet. Position requires the necessary physical condition to perform moderate physical labor over a sustained period of time primarily outdoors; standing, walking, bending, and carrying moderate weight items (25-50 pounds) such as tools, equipment, and supplies.
Job Requirements
The City of Middletown is accepting applications for the position of Senior Electronics Technician in the Department of Public Works & Utilities, Division of Electronics. Requirements: Applicants must possess a minimum of one-year experience in electronics and/or experience in the construction, installation, maintenance, and repair of electronics, electrical, and communications equipment or any equivalent combination of experience or training. Applicants must possess a valid Ohio Driver’s License. Special Requirements: Possession of an International Municipal Signal Association Traffic Technician Level I Certificate or must obtain within 6 months of employment. Salary Range: $45,998 to $60,591 annually with excellent benefits. All applicants will be required to take a written examination on Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at 6:00 p.m.
