Description
The Swim Lesson Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and delivery of the Blue Ash Recreation Center’s School of Fins: Swim and Safety Lessons program. This position provides direct supervision and support to Swim Lesson Instructors while ensuring high-quality instruction, consistent safety standards, and a positive experience for participants and families. The Swim Lesson Supervisor serves as the primary point of contact during swim lesson sessions and supports both group and private lessons.
This position includes paid, on-site training, participation in the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System (OPERS), a free individual membership to the Blue Ash Recreation Center (with eligibility and discounts for family members), and discounts at the Blue Ash Golf Course and Sandtrap Grill.
- Coordination and oversight of all group swim lesson sessions, including three to four one-week sessions per summer.
- Supervise, mentor, and support Swim Lesson Instructors during group and private lessons
- Assist with instructor onboarding, training, and in-service participation
- Ensure water safety standards, pool rules, and Emergency Action Plans (EAPs) are followed
- Act as a point of contact for parents/guardians during swim lesson sessions
- Assist with instructor scheduling and coverage
- Provide input on program improvements and seasonal planning
- Swim Instructor Certification (e.g., American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor or equivalent)
- Ability to demonstrate swim skill appropriate for instructional and supervisory purposes
- Two (2) or more years of experience teaching group swim lessons
- Previous experience providing leadership, mentoring, or supervision
- Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills
- Availability to work a flexible schedule, including mornings and evenings, based on program needs.
