System Maintenance

This position is responsible for performing various functions in connection with the operation, maintenance, repair and modification of the District’s water distribution system. Because this position typically involves essential functions requiring manual labor using hand tools and various types of power equipment and the manipulation of water pipes, valves, hydrants and other types of construction materials, an occupant of this position must be able to perform tasks involving stooping, bending, twisting and unassisted carrying and lifting of materials or tools weighing in excess of twenty pounds and up to sixty pounds, operating/using various types of construction equipment and tools, and working within restricted spaces and on varying terrain. The ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions is also required.

 

Each employee within this position must have a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent and is required to possess, and maintain in good standing, a valid Driver’s License. Within three months of the date of the employee’s date of hire, each employee is required to obtain, and to thereafter maintain in good standing, a valid Commercial Driver’s License.
