Company Description Smith Automation is a Manufacture’s’ Representative organization. Our goal is to technically support the products we represent and increase sales.  A commission is paid to Smith Automation based on existing and new sales generated.  Our customer base use a wide range of technologies in the following industries:

  • Packaging
  • Food and Beverage
  • Material Handling
  • Agriculture
  • Custom Machinery OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturers)

Job Description:  This is a challenging opportunity for an individual with an entrepreneur mindset to work with technical products and apply them to real applications in the Factory Automation Market.

Location:  Cincinnati, OH

Pay Structure:  Full Salary in first year then Salary + Commission with paid vacation and travel reimbursement. As a Manufacturer’s Territory Sales Manager, the candidate will be responsible for all direct sales activities, from lead generation to closing deals for the assigned territory.  The TSM will develop and implement an approved sales plan, to meet both personal and business goals of the expanding customer base in the assigned area.  Working with sales and support teams, the candidate will aim to achieve customer satisfaction, revenue generation, and long-term account goals that are in line with the company’s vision and values.

Duties and Responsibilities:  

  • Responsible for the sale of industrial automation products
  • Demonstrate technical selling skills and product knowledge in all areas
  • Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of an organization
  • Sell consultatively making recommendations to prospects and clients of various solutions to lower manufacturing costs and increase productivity
  • Assist in the implementation of company marketing plans as needed
  • Submit detailed business information for pricing and presentations of solution to identified prospects’ manufacturing processes
  • Maintain accurate records of all sales and prospecting activities through SalesForce CRM
  • Maintain records of current projects in SalesForce
  • Participate and contribute to the development of educational programs offered to clients, prospects and company employees.

Requirements:

  • Associate or Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Knowledge of Microsoft’s Office Suite products
  • Understanding of electrical terminology with the ability to read basic schematics
  • Self-starterable to work remotely without direct supervision
