Veterinary Assistant

We have a part-time position available for a veterinary assistant. Hours (12 hours per week) will be 9-1 Tuesdays and 10-6 Thursdays. Prior experience working in the veterinary field would be very helpful, but not necessary.

Veterinary Wellness Center (www.vetwellness.com) is a unique veterinary practice that offers our clients an integration of alternative (holistic) therapies combined with traditional medicine, surgery, and dentistry. We have dedicated clients who seek out this unique approach for their pets. They come from diverse backgrounds and from a wide geographic area. Many of our clients travel an hour or more, because of their dedication to their pets’ welfare and desire for our unique style of care. As a result, our team members share a commitment to individualized, integrative patient care for pets that are valued as members of the family.

 

Necessary attributes for this position: a pleasant demeanor and empathetic concern for suffering and pain (human or animal); professional appearance and proper use of the English language; positive attitude and desire to learn; ability to multi-task while maintaining calm composure; accurately attend to details. 

Physical requirements include the ability to assist the veterinarian in the examination room with restraint of cats and dogs for examinations and treatments. Lift tables are utilized throughout the office so that lifting heavy objects/animals is minimized.
