- Line Investigation and Maintenance. Conducts smoke testing by operating and maintaining smoke blower, gathering drainage information, and operating camera; monitors flow; conducts dye water flooding; conducts manhole inspections and checks for structural soundness; locates and marks sewer lines; and operates easement machine, sewer jet, T.V. truck or Vactor when crew leader is absent.
- Repair. Corrects sewer line problems; and rehabilitates manholes (e.g., changes castings, coordinates with other utilities to bring up to grade, waterproofs, etc.).
- Preventive Maintenance. Cleans sewer blockages, wet wells, and treatment tanks; and performs scheduled sewer cleanings.
- Other Duties as Required. Cleans and performs light maintenance on section vehicles; assists in daily operation of T.V. or combination cleaning truck; and performs other duties as required.
Must have a high school education or the equivalent thereof. Must have a valid Ohio driver's license with a Class B CDL endorsement or be capable of obtaining a CDL within 6 months. Possession of an OEPA Class I Operator - Wastewater Collection license is preferred.
The Wastewater Collection Worker I must be able to attend work daily. Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions. Must be able to enter confined spaces and work in awkward positions that require bending and twisting. Must be able to perform heavy manual labor.
