Water Line Maintenance Operator I

• Water Line Repairs, 40% of the time

Performs unskilled, semi-skilled and skilled tasks to assist with all aspects of installation and repairs to the water distribution system.

• Equipment Operation, 20% of the time

Operates bobcat and various small equipment.

• Yard Restoration, 20% of the time

Performs mechanical or hand preparation of disturbed ground; applies seed/straw; and plants shrubs and trees, etc.

• Hydrant Work, 10% of the time

 

Performs preventive maintenance on hydrants; and repairs and replaces broken hydrants.

• Maintenance, 5% of the time

Performs shop and equipment maintenance including daily greasing of equipment, housekeeping, tool and supply care, inventory and ordering, etc.

Must have the ability to engage in manual labor over extended periods of time under varied conditions and the willingness to respond to after-hours emergency situations. Must have a valid Ohio Driver's License (CDL preferred). Must have a high school education or the equivalent thereof.
