Department/s: 320 - Maintenance M&E Reports to: Maintenance Manager

 

Position Overview:

Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.

 

Essential Job Functions

  • Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; and using precision measuring and testing instruments.
  • Removes defective parts by dismantling devices utilizing hand and power tools. Documents the process so machine can be reassembled correctly.
  • Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
  • Adjusts functional parts of devices and machines by using hand and power tools.
  • Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance.
  • Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop tools and equipment.
  • Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.
  • Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
  • Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
  • Prepares maintenance work orders and submits them upon completion of the task.
  • Makes repairs to the building and other structures and systems as needed.
  • Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Follows correct lockout tagout procedures.
  • Contributes to team effort by working with other associates.

Requirements

  • Equipment Maintenance Knowledge, Electrical Knowledge, Technical Understanding, Basic Safety, Power Tools, Attention to Detail, Flexibility.
  • Ability to Interpret Electrical Schematics and Technical Drawings, Job Knowledge, Productivity.

Other Skills/Abilities

Physical Demands

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and squat to work on and around machines.
  • Climb ladders and utilize powered lifts.
  • Lift items weighing up to 75 lbs.
