Job Requirements

JOB SUMMARY

This position coordinates the second shift production for the Hamilton Casework Solutions. This is a working supervisor position.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Prior to the shift beginning, supervisor is briefed by and takes direction from the Plant Manager or previous Shift Supervisor regarding the workload, priorities, and assignments for the shifts
Assigns employee daily work load to meet required productions schedules.
Manages to a daily production schedule.
Insures all product is machined to meet quality standards.
Responsible for all drawing and cut lists sign-offs.
Trains current and new production workers.
Assesses new regular or temporary employee capabilities.
Responsible for insuring safety policies, practices and protocols are followed.
Responsible for securing the building during 2nd shift and proper audit and lockup at the end of the shift.
Assists in continuous improvement, lean production practices such as 5S, Kaizen, Kanban.
Responsible for managing overtime (premium hours).
QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or equivalent.
4 years experience in a shop floor manufacturing environment.
Proficient in operating at least one of the Edgebander, Panel Saw or CNC Boring Machine.
Fluent in company production standards and methods.
HCS certified to operate a forklift safely.
Good verbal communication skills.
Proper phone etiquette.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Work involves walking, talking, hearing, using hand manual tools, using battery operated or electrical hand tools, driving motorized forklifts, and pulling and pushing manual material handling equipment.
Vision abilities require close vision assessments.
May be required to lift, push, pull, and/or carry up to 50 lbs.
May be required to stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Moderately loud noise levels in plant environment.
